Ce bloc de granit qui devait servir \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9rection d\u2019une statue de Napol\u00e9on 1 er \u00e0 Ajaccio (taill\u00e9 en 1837) n\u2019a pu \u00eatre transport\u00e9 pour des raisons mat\u00e9rielles et financi\u00e8res.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.locationencorse.eu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/monolithe-algajola.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-0\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2576\" src=\"http:\/\/www.locationencorse.eu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/monolithe-algajola-800x314.jpg\" alt=\"monolithe algajola\" width=\"620\" height=\"243\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.locationencorse.eu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/monolithe-algajola-800x314.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.locationencorse.eu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/monolithe-algajola-400x157.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.locationencorse.eu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/monolithe-algajola.jpg 999w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\">Le granit d\u2019Algajola est caract\u00e9ris\u00e9 par de gros cristaux jaune- miel, le mica est cribl\u00e9 d\u2019inclusions dans tous les tons de verts, cet ensemble de cristaux divers est envelopp\u00e9 par des felspaths et du quartz. Le monolithe demeur\u00e9 sur place est de dimensions remarquables, il mesure en moyenne 17,36 m\u00e8tres de longueur et a un diam\u00e8tre de 2,74 m\u00e8tres, le volume de ce cylindre est donc de 102597 dm3, la densit\u00e9 de ce granit \u00e9tant de 2.65, il en r\u00e9sulte que sa masse approximative est de 271,884 tonnes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.locationencorse.eu\/blog\/monolithe-d-algajola\/monolyte\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5026\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-5026\" src=\"http:\/\/www.locationencorse.eu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/monolyte-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"monolyte\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>En venant de l\u2019Ile-Rousse une grande ligne droite pr\u00e9c\u00e8de l\u2019entr\u00e9e dans le village d\u2019Algajola. Au milieu de celle-ci une station service permet de rep\u00e9rer la carri\u00e8re du monolithe.
